Focus Autumn 2018
This Autumn during the weekend of the 13
th
and 14
th
October,
Stoke Music will present a programme of music for two
pianos with pianists Paulo Lopes and Peter Wild.
The event will commence on the evening of Saturday 13th
October with a concert in The Barn at Stoke By Clare.
The composers Carl Reinecke, Astor Piazzola and the French
composers Cecile Chaminade and Camille Saint-Saëns, will be
represented in some of their works originally conceived for two
pianos.
The second half of the programme will include The Carnival of
the Animals in a special arrangement for two pianos and cello,
with the cellist Eugenie Degan and narrator Edwin Marr.
On Sunday 14
th
October in a special collaboration with Stoke
Music, the pupils of Alison Dando’s School of Dance will take
part in a performance of The Carnival of the Animals; through
the music of Saint-Saëns they will be portraying characters
such as the lion, the birds, the swan etc. This performance will
take place at Clare Town Hall.
The evening performance in Stoke by Clare village hall (The
Barn) on Saturday 13
th
October will begin at 7.30 and will
include a meal during the interval. Tickets for this show are
£20. The Sunday 14
th
October performance at Clare Town Hall
will begin at 4.00pm and the ticket price is £10.
